I'm pretty tired. Phew~
Umm, let's talk something about God, parents and children.

Last Thursday, Rev David talked about 1/10 offering to the church. To most non-Christians, this is crazy. The only that will pop out in their mind are:

"Money faced $$ Pastor!" 

"You talk only money!" 

However, his message that night was about the importance of paying 1/10 offering to the church for Christians. 

Everything we have today belongs to God. The clothes you are wearing, the food you are eating, the money that you see as valuable and many others. It is not too much if we could do God some favour by returning some to Him whereby actually all those that we have today belong to him, including ourselves. 

Malachi 3, 8-12

 ⁸ “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
   “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
   “In tithes and offerings. ⁹ You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. ¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. ¹¹ I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty. ¹² “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.




Read these few lines carefully. There is a reason why we Christians should pay 1/10 offering to the church.

Some people have always wondered why they are always SO POOR despite how hard they have worked. This is strange, isn't it? From Malachi, we understood that this is actually a curse put upon by God Himself. For those who did not do the 1/10 offering, there will be a curse casted on him/her.

So, now the question is, what is 1/10 offering?


Answer: 1/10 offering means 1/10 of your money. If you have RM 100 in your pocket, that means you offer RM 10 as your 1/10 offering. If you have RM 1000, you take out RM 100 for offering. Is that clear?


Alright, you may feel that God is being unreasonable and you probably feel hard to take out that sum of money willingly. However brothers and sisters, please think again. These money do not belongs to us. We can have it now but not in future. Is it wise to exchange these money with God's faith? Certainly NO!

God has stated in Malachi clearly that, whoever that is willing to pay the 1/10 offering to the church, He will certainly bless him/her with plentiful of blessings. Sometimes, you may wonder, how come God has never granted me anything.. Maybe, this could be the reason why.

You may question again. "Is God really that real? Is He really going to grant me what I want and multiply my blessings if I'm willing to offer 1/10 as offering?"  


The answer is YES.


Let me tell you a testimony about my Uncle..

*story begins* *it's not just a story. it's a real life experience with God*

TESTIMONY OF 1/10 OFFERING

READ THIS, IT'S NOT VERY LONG.

My Uncle is a businessman. He used to be a non-Christian who lives a miserable life. He was a heavy smoker for almost 14 years. He has tried to quit smoking but the nicotine temptation was so great, he couldn't resist but returning back to it again and again. He had tried sweets, chewing gums and any ways you can think of, it simply doesn't work! 

My Uncle's wife is a devoted Christian. When they got married, my Uncle was not a Christian yet. There were a few problems occurred due to difference in thinkings and opinions. However, they managed to got through all those obstacles. 

Let's move back to my Uncle's business.. His business was not very stable all these while. He owned a company with a few co partners in the past. The business he was doing was selling textiles and house renovating that kind of contractor job. Things were so terrible for him as the money they had earned will immediately gone down to drain. My Uncle and his gang used to visit the karaoke and spend all the money they have just earned in a blink of eye. Their business was not really profitable until a state whereby the company actually owed people money. My Uncle's co partners ran away half way when the company had financial crisis, leaving my Uncle alone to settle the problem. Life was very hard for him at that time as he just got married and his business was in a mess. Everything in his life at that time was up side down. 

My Aunty was worried and brought him to church. Slowly, my Uncle started to adapt to the Christians going to church life. However, he could not go to church regularly every Sunday because his business is best on Sunday when people are not working, that's when people will make appointments to see house for renovating. Hence, to him, Sunday is a no-no to skip day for business. Every Sunday, he can earn big money. 

However as time passes, he slowly starts to go to church regularly every Sunday without missing any service. In other words, he is giving up his Sunday best business to earn big money for the sake of God. You might feel that he is going to lose a big sum of money but things were not like that. He actually gained more than he thought he could gain. After giving up the Sunday business, God actually granted him more business during weekdays. It was so strange that his customers were the ones going up to him. He did not have to go out to look for customers. His customers come one after next. His business was better than before, obviously. All these are God's blessings. Sunday is supposed to be a day when we all have rest and worship in God's place. Giving up working on Sunday, God will return you more blessings on other days. You just need to believe in Him. 

Alright, how did my Uncle quited smoking? I haven't talk about that.. He had tried all kinds of ways you can ever think of to quit smoking. However, nothing is able to stop him from the temptation of smoking. Once, my Aunty recommended a song to him. I couldn't remember the title but it was a nice, soothing and inspirational Christian hymn. This simple song which is full of power by God enables him to quit smoking. This is no joke nor story making. All I'm writing here is based on what he told me, his real experience. A 14 years heavy smoker could quit smoking by always singing a Christian hymn and feel the power of God, guiding him through his difficult path. 

One day, he started to give 1/10 offering to the church. God has done miracles in his life again. His business was initially very good already after giving up working on Sunday. God put more blessings in him and his family for giving him more profit than last time. He was able to buy new car and a new house. His annual earning was way more than any other years. This proves what? God is working and like what God has said, you can test him if giving 1/10 offering is worth it. God will return you with multiplied blessings if you are willing to step out the first step. 

We mortals cannot test our Almighty God. However in Malachi, God told us that, we can test him only on the 1/10 offerings. It is just a matter of whether you want to try it or not. If you are willing to try, God is able to work miracles on you. 

It's always true that, how can God bless a thief? It stated clearly that.. 

Will a mere mortal be a thief?

How?

By not paying the 1/10 offerings. 

You are robbing something which initially belongs to God. 

All you need to do is just try, 

and wait for God's justification.

Believe in Him and He will never fails you. 

Amen. 

Friends, it's very important to ask yourself, 

do you really believe? 

Parents VS God

Rev. David also shared something about parents versus God. Some parents who are excessively controlling their children are actually going against God's authority on the particular child. God has His mission and command for every soul He created. Every child has a mission given by God ever since he/she is born. Parents who are being crazily controlling their children are not following the way of God. For instance, some parents do not allow their children to do what their children like to do. There used to be a news in the past saying, a child who didn't love to be a lawyer was being forced to study law by his parents. In the end, when he had successfully graduated and got his lawyer license, he wrote his will at the back of the lawyer license. He committed suicide after that. 

In short, God's will is more important than parents' will. Parents should be aware of this. Do not be over controlling over your children or else you only ruin them and create sins against God. 

Phew! I'm done! I feel so refreshing while typing this. Helleluyah to God for the power He had put on me to finish this post. I hope that you all will be aware of something after reading this, especially Christians.
